Leaving a Legacy
Thank you for taking your time to learn about our legacy gift options. In recent years, more and more people are interested in leaving a philanthropic legacy - “What should I do with the assets I have built,” “I would like to keep his/her legacy for a good cause.” However, because of complicated paperwork, not many people actually go through with the process.
In response to the goodwills of our supporters, Civic Force is accepting requests for consultations regarding legacy gift and inheritance donation options. Please contact your accountant for tax-related concerns.

Bequest (given by will)
STEP1
Discuss with Civic Force about bequest (optional)
We would like to learn more about what you have in mind and discuss how Civic Force can help. We may refer you to lawyers or accountants.
STEP2
Choose the executor of your will
The executor of your will is responsible for carrying out your wishes including distributing assets and managing registrations. The executor should be named in your will. Oftentimes, neutral executors are selected.
STEP3
Write your will
There are two types of wills: notralized and holographic wills. We recommend the notralized will which is considered a legal document in Japan.

Execution of your will

*Non-cash donations:
If the property is real estate, we ask that the will’s executor dispose of the property in exchange for cash and donate the cash to Civic Force after deducting taxes and necessary expenses. If you are interested in non-cash legacy gifts, we encourage you to contact Civic Force in advance to discuss details.
