2021 August Heavy Rain

Project Overview

On August 14, 2021, an emergency evacuation order was issued to over 640,000 households amid torrential rains in Northern Kyushu and Hiroshima Prefecture. Flooding and mudslide damages were reported across the region and Civic Force began providing emergency assistance in Saga Prefecture. Saga-based staff were also affected by the flooding. Civic Force continues assessing the needs of the affected residents and providing relief work.

  • Transportation Service

    Transportation Service

    Civic Force distributed free taxi vouchers to the affected residents who lost their means of transportation. The transportation service is used by evacuees in Omachi and Takeo. This program is made possible by a partnership with Omachi Tourism Taxi, local municipalities, evacuation centers, and local residents.

  • Relief Item Distribution

    Relief Item Distribution

    Civic Force is delivering emergency relief items in Omachi and Takeo in Saga Prefecture and Kurume in Fukuoka Prefecture. Those cities were severely damaged by the floods. The distribution is implemented in partnership with the municipalities and local residents.
