Help Support Medical and Welfare Facilities Responding to COVID-19

The state of emergency issued in nine prefectures, including Tokyo and Osaka, has now been extended to June 20, 2021.

Frontline medical and welfare facilities are facing a critical moment.

"I have not slept nor have I taken rest. I am exhausted."

"He died while waiting for a transfer to a hospital."

"Having outside support assured us that we are not alone."

These are some of the feedback relayed to ARROWS (Airborne Rescue and Relief Operations With Search) from medical and welfare facilities that ARROWS assisted during cluster infections.

ARROWS has been implementing COVID-19 relief activities since January 2020. In the past year and a half, ARROWS has supported hospitals and welfare facilities and received a growing number of requests for assistance. Facilities experiencing cluster infections lack the human resources to manage the situation and are forced to rely on outside assistance. However, as the pandemic continues to spread, even outside support is becoming scarce.

ARROWS is leveraging its resources and dispatching medical teams to hospitals and welfare facilities to alleviate their burden. The team has been sent to medical and welfare facilities in nine municipalities across Japan and provided consultations for infected patients, zoning, training on how to wear PPEs, medical equipment, and more.

ARROWS has launched a government crowdfunding project to support frontline medical and welfare facilities. Please support our activities through Furusato Nozei (hometown tax scheme).
