On-going Needs Assessments
4:50 AM (JST) on July 4, 2020, heavy rain emergency alerts were issued in Kumamoto and Kagoshima Prefectures in southwestern Japan. The once-in-decades storm is the highest warning level on a scale of 1 to 5. It has already caused floods and mudslides in the Kuma River, Kuma Village, and Hitoyoshi-shi.
As a member of Airborne Rescue and Relief Operations With Search (ARROWS), Civic Force is continuing to gather information on the damages.
