Civic Force Recognized by Minami-Sanriku Town, Miyagi Prefecture
On April 20, Civic Force received an appreciation award from Minami-Sanriku, Miyagi Prefecture for its work during the Great East Japan Earthquake.
During the disaster in 2011, Civic Force delivered relief items to evacuation centers and installed temporary hot bath facilities.
Mayor Sato thanked Civic Force and stated, “It is important for municipalities to increase their capacity to receive outside assistance and thorough planning.” Civic Force continues to support the Tohoku region through NPO Partner Projects focusing on community assistance, retreats in Fukushima, and passing down memories.
