An international symposium will be hosted by Civic Force's partner organization, A-PAD on August 29 in Colombo, Sri Lanka. Please join us online.

This year’s theme is “Turning the Tide: 20 Years of Tsunami Readiness and Resilience.” 20 years after the 2004 Sumatra earthquake and tsunami, representatives and staff from the six A-PAD member countries are participating, and a panel discussion will bring together tsunami and disaster preparedness experts from each country.

The speaker from Japan will be Makoto Hatakeyama from the NPO Mori wa Umi no Koibito, based in Kesennuma, Miyagi Prefecture, who works with Civic Force as an advisor for the NPO Partner Projects.
