Civic Force at Policy Study Group with the Governor of Ishikawa Prefecture
Civic Force’s Executive Director, Kaori Neki, attended the Liberal Democratic Party's National Women's Parliamentary Policy Study Group held in Tokyo on May 16, and discussed "Disaster Victim Support and Reconstruction Support" with Ishikawa Prefecture Governor Mr. Hiroshi Hase and Mr. Takuma Miyaji, Director of the Policy Department. The study group was participated by 292 people including online participants.
Neki shared the characteristics of the Noto Peninsula earthquake that occurred on New Year's Day. She shared about the difficulties and challenges in providing support and the necessary support based on regional characteristics and situations. Furthermore, she emphasized the need to actively assign female staff to administrative and disaster preparedness departments and to have a gender-free mindset on a daily basis.
Neki also conveyed requests to the Liberal Democratic Party and the Women's Affairs Bureau to dispatch experienced local government officials to disaster areas and to promote push-type support in collaboration with the private sector.
