Starting on September 2, rivers in Akita Prefecture overflowed due to the heavy rains, and a temporary "Emergency Safety Alert" was issued for Akita City, Semboku City, and Gojome Town.

On the same day, Akita Prefecture decided to apply the Disaster Relief Act to  Gojome Town and Kamikoani Village.

Civic Force has begun gathering information on the damage situation and has started the free delivery of relief supplies via Good Links.
