On December 8, 2025, a magnitude 7.6 earthquake struck the east coast of Aomori Prefecture.As a result, tsunami warnings were issued for the central Pacific coast of Hokkaido, the Pacific coast of Aomori Prefecture, and the coast of Iwate Prefecture, with tsunamis up to 70cm arriving Hokkaido and the Tohoku region. On December 9, the tsunami warning was upgraded to a tsunami advisory.

Civic Force is currently gathering information on the extent of the damage, and is also planning to conduct assessments in the affected areas.
