In Hikawa Town, one of the areas where Civic Force has been providing support since immediately after the disaster, approximately 30% of the town's 3,938 buildings, or 1,278 buildings, suffered damage of 50% or more. While residents began moving into temporary housing on September 5, it will still take a long time for those affected to return to their normal lives. Civic Force continues to deliver supplies to evacuation centers and those sheltering in their homes, responding to the evolving needs.

At its peak, nearly 350 people in Hikawa Town were evacuated to multiple evacuation centers, but with the reopening of schools on September 1, they were consolidated into two locations.

On September 12, Civic Force retrieved a camping trailer that had been used at an evacuation center since August 8. The trailer was lent to a support group that was providing temporary bathing facilities and was used as a staff rest area for about a month. The staff were exhausted from the scorching heat, but they were able to secure a rest space, and by having staff take turns, they were able to continue operating the baths without any problems.

Civic Force will continue to work in cooperation with various organizations operating in the disaster-affected areas to provide support tailored to the needs of those affected.

Furthermore, two Civic Force camping trailers remain set up next to the evacuation centers in Hikawa Town, and are being used as rest spaces for evacuation center staff.

Civic Force owns disaster relief trailer homes equipped with kitchens, beds, and other amenities to quickly and flexibly deliver living and activity spaces to disaster-stricken areas during large-scale disasters. They have been provided free of charge to local organizations, municipalities, and organizations in disaster-stricken areas, including the 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake, the Kumamoto Earthquake 10 years ago, the West Japan floods, and the communities affected by the pandemic, and have been used as temporary clinics, rest areas, and other facilities.

During the recent Kumamoto earthquake, Sanyo Parts Co., Ltd., a company based in Yamaguchi Prefecture, provided us with support  in moving, transporting, and setting up the trailers. Sanyo Parts is a company that handles wholesale and sales of automotive parts and provides service work, and utilizing its expertise in vehicle maintenance and management. They have been maintaining and managing Civic Force's trailers since January 2025.

Initially, we did not have a clear idea of ​​how the trailers would actually be used, but we were able to see them being put to good use in Hikawa Town and understand how they helped in the disaster-stricken area. As a member of the support team, I was able to participate in the relief efforts and feel the potential of the trailers. We hope that we will not have to deploy them often, but we would like to cooperate again if another disaster occurs."
