What’s included in the heatstroke prevention kit?
- 5 packets of oral rehydration powder

- 2 cooling packs

- 1 cooling towel

- 3 cooling sheets

- 1 folding fan

In recent years, typhoons and heavy rains have caused disasters almost every year throughout Japan, and heat countermeasures have become a major challenge, especially during the summer months when people are living in evacuation centers. The risk of heatstroke increases in evacuation centers that lack adequate heating and cooling facilities and in areas experiencing power outages. Many families with young children, people with disabilities, or pets choose to avoid evacuation shelters and opt for staying in their cars or sheltering in place. In these situations, appropriate heatstroke prevention measures are essential.

This kit was prepared with in-kind donations from the KLA Foundation and employee volunteers from KLA-Tencor Co., Ltd. (pictured above). Of the 300 sets packed, 160 sets will be stored at the Civic Force warehouse in Saga City, and 140 sets will be stored at our base in Ishinomaki City, Miyagi Prefecture. By distributing the stockpiles between two locations in Kyushu and Tohoku, we are able to ensure that they can be delivered quickly to disaster-stricken areas in the event of a disaster.

Civic Force will continue to work with corporate partners and local organizations to prepare necessary relief supplies and provide swift assistance during disasters.
