【Common Benefit Investment Fund Japan】 Announcing Grantees

Tohoku CB Leap Fund established by theCommon Benefit Investment Fund (former Tohoku Common Benefit Investment Fund), and The Sanaburi Foundation has decided to support three organizations in fiscal year 2019. All three organizations are contributing to disaster recovery efforts in Fukushima.

The Common Benefit Investment Fund, which was established in 2011 with funds donated to Civic Force, has so far invested JPY170 million (approximately USD1.5 million) for 14 projects in Tohoku and has contributed to economic recovery and securing and increasing local employment for businesses affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake.

Since 2017, the Fund has been repaid JPY10 million. In September 2019, the Tohoku CB Leap Fund was established to utilize the second round of grants funding. The new scheme is supporting fundraising for NPOs in three prefectures affected by the disaster so that those organizations can improve and continue working on their solution-focused projects.
