【Noto Peninsula Heavy Rain】 NPO Partner Project Launched
In Wajima City, Suzu City, and Noto Town which were hit by record heavy rains in September, a total of 3,141 households continue to be without water supply (as of September 29). There are concerns that the recent heavy rains will further damage the infrastructure damaged by the earthquake on January 1, and that water outages may be prolonged or occur more frequently in the future.
Civic Force continues to provide needed supplies such as emergency toilets, plastic sheets, clothing, and slippers that can be used during water outages through partner organizations active in the disaster-affected areas.
Civic Force launched a new NPO Partner Project with an aid organization based in Saga called “Omoyai”. Omoyai aims to provide tailored support to individuals impacted by disasters.
Omoyai has been supporting communities around the Noto Peninsula since the January earthquake, including provision of relief items and removing mud from houses.Omoyai also continues to survey the needs of the communities they serve and deploys volunteers where assistance has not yet been reached.
There is a shortage of manpower in the disaster-stricken areas, and recruitment of volunteers has begun in various locations. We appreciate your continued support.
Aid organizations in the affected areas can also request relief items through GoodLinks.
