【Noto Peninsula Heavy Rain】 Air Circulators for Local NPO in Wajima City
Water outages continue on the Noto Peninsula due to heavy rains in September. Many areas in Suzu City, Wajima City, and Noto Town have yet to see any recovery in sight. Wajima City was particularly hit hard - mud and sand flowed into buildings and rice fields across the city and cleanup efforts are still ongoing.
At the end of September, Civic Force lent two portable emergency toilets and batteries to Jikkuraato, a local NPO working to create a safe place for children in Wajima City
Jikkuraato was established in 2022 and it operates "Wajima Teen Lab" for local children. The lab reopened at the end of March but the recent heavy rains have caused damage once again. The clinic on the 1st floor was particularly affected by flooding and they plan to use the leased items there.
Civic Force also shipped out air circulators and other equipment to Jikkuraato for cleanup activities.
Civic Force delivered cleaning equipment and supplies to an organization working in Kanawaza City. These items will be used to clean up a flooded nursing facility.
Aid organizations in the affected areas can also request relief items through GoodLinks.
