Heavy rainfall starting August 10 caused significant mudslides across Yatsushiro City, leading to the most severe damage in Kumamoto Prefecture. As of August 27, one death has been confirmed, with 1,388 homes flooded above floor level and 1,309 flooded below.

In response, the Yatsushiro City Council of Social Welfare opened a disaster volunteer center on August 13 to support cleanup and recovery. Civic Force has already supplied essential equipment like high-pressure washers and drinking water.

On August 27, we delivered 50 circulating fans, funded by the JPBPA's Players Fund, to the volunteer center. These fans are crucial for drying out flooded homes to prevent mold and further damage. A staff member expressed their gratitude, stating, "The disaster victims are heartbroken, so we want to use these to help with recovery as quickly as possible. Thank you."

The JPBPA holds charity auctions and crowdfunding campaigns every year from December to January. Players from all 12 professional baseball teams contribute signed gloves, bats, T-shirts, and other items for the auctions and as thank-you gifts. The generous donations from baseball fans and supporters are used for disaster relief and prevention efforts.
