News Letter Vol.35 is Now Available -The Great East Japan Earthquake 14 Years After 3.11

Fourteen years have passed since the Great East Japan Earthquake on March 11, 2011 (“3.11”). The disaster-stricken areas of Tohoku, which suffered immense damage, have seen progress and the appearance of the towns have changed significantly. Civic Force held the Tohoku Favorite Spot Award this year as one way to reflect on 3.11. We received nearly 200 photos and episodes and a total of 32 works were selected: 2 grand prize winners, 6 excellence award winners, 3 special recognition award winners, and 21 honorable mentions. In this issue of the newsletter, we announced the results of the favorite spot award and report on emergency relief activities for the forest fire in Ofunato City, Iwate Prefecture, and other topics.
