The objective of the call was to discuss how an organization focusing on servicing communities begins its activities and to think about how each student can contribute in their own communities. Since 2012, students from the junior high school annually visit Civic Force but this year’s meeting was held online due to COVID-19. A representative from Civic Force discussed last year’s activities during the landslide in Atami, heavy rains in Kyushu, and the Great East Japan Earthquake.

The students were eager to learn about Civic Force’s work, asking about Civic Force’s motives, challenges faced, and what they could do to help.

Disaster can happen anytime, anywhere. Civic Force values opportunities like this with young people to discuss disaster preparedness and what each of us could do.
